Learning about Autism, Aspergers and other aspects of Pervasive Developmental Disorder (PDD) is a journey that requires a lot of navigation. Having a guide to show you some of the paths already traveled can be helpful. The Autism Society of Washington is here for you, your child, your family, medical professionals, educators and all those with an interest in helping individuals who experience any form of Autism to lead happy and successful lives.
That successfulness can look different for each individual. A therapy, medication or other form of assistance may work well for one person and not for another. The Autism Society of Washington will provide you with information and resources to help you and your loved one in making decisions. The choice of what to try and when to try it belongs to you.
If you need information or resources and can't find them on this site, please call our office at (253) 572-5203 or email us at the link below.
Autism Society of Washington

The Autism Society of Washington promotes the active and informed involvement of family members and the individual with autism in the planning of individualized, appropriate services and supports. The Board of the Autism Society of Washington believes that each person with autism is a unique individual. Each family and individual with autism should have the right to learn about and then select, the options that they feel are most appropriate for the individual with autism. To the maximum extent possible, we believe that both the parents and the individual with autism should make the decisions. To see our Options Policy click here.
The information found on this web site is for informational purposes only. No endorsement of any particular therapy or intervention is implied. Because no two individuals with autism are the same, you are strongly encouraged to research all information offered to determine whether any approach, treatment or program may be beneficial to you, your children, or to your students.
