Posted June 7, 2010

Teachtown (a division of Jigsaw Learning) is looking for a few more districts to participate in a study of efficacy and replication for Autism programs in public schools.  The due date to submit a Letter of Intent (LOI) signed by a director or above is this Friday, June 11th, 2010.

Following is the general break down of the study and participant requirements:

-         Teachtown is hoping to replicate their LAUSD study across the country in smaller districts

-         They are targeting preschool, kindergarten, and grade 1 students with ASD in developmental preschools or self contained classrooms

-         This is a three-year study – the first 2 years are teacher training and implementation

-         Teachers will be trained remotely in a distance learning model with trained professionals in PRT

-         For every 10 students with ASD that participate in a school district, the district will receive 1 free computer with the TeachTown: Basics software and curriculum

-         Each student participant will be assessed by certified assessors, district gets to keep all assessment data

-         School/districts get to keep all TeachTown Basics curricula (on and off computer curricula)
