Become a Board Member, Volunteer or Community Representative.
The Autism Society of Washington is currently looking for board candidates and volunteers to help us grow our reach and strengthen our community. Volunteers and board members play a vital role in sustaining our programs, hosting spaces like Coffee Clubs and Discord, and ensuring Autistic voices are centered in everything we do.
The Autism Society of Washington's Board of Directors, committees, and volunteers are passionate, hard working, and celebrate the diversity of thoughts and experiences within our members. We are committed to encouraging Autistic leadership, listening to Autistic voices, representing the diverse population and areas that we serve, and maintaining safe, welcoming spaces for everyone. We are seeking to add members to our Board of Directors, expand our volunteer base, and invite community representatives from each area of our state. These are all volunteer opportunities. We especially encourage Autistic people to apply.
As part of the process, we hold brief interviews with all applicants. These interviews are not meant to be intimidating—they are conducted to ensure the safety and well-being of our community, as well as to get to know your interests and strengths. We also share interview questions in advance to make the process as accessible as possible.
If you’re interested in joining us, we’d love to hear from you. Together, we can continue building safe, affirming, and inclusive spaces for Autistic people across Washington.
