Who we are. What we do.

We are a proudly Autistic-led and neuro-affirming organization, and a dedicated affiliate of the Autism Society of America. We support Autistics and their communities across Washington State through advocacy, education, allyship, and inclusive connection. Operated by a volunteer board, we strive to create a more accepting and informed world.

Our membership is free, because we believe cost should never be a barrier for those who need support.

Please note that we are not licensed to provide medical or therapy advice or recommendations.

How We Can Help

The Autism Society of Washington (ASW) is a statewide nonprofit organization focused on advocacy, education, and community connection. We work alongside Autistic people, their families, communities, and other organizations across Washington to share information, build connections, and support efforts toward greater understanding, inclusion, and acceptance.

We love connecting people with information, resources, and support that may be helpful to them. We work with individuals, community groups, and other organizations to create opportunities for Autistic people, their families, and friends to gather, connect, build relationships, and participate in welcoming, inclusive activities. We also help individuals and families explore available support networks, community organizations, and local or statewide resources that may fit their needs.

ASW is a volunteer-driven organization, and while we do our best to help people find information, resources, and connections that may be useful, we know that every person and family has different needs. We are not a direct service provider, so we may not always have the answers or be able to connect someone with the support they are looking for. We encourage people to reach out, and we will share information and possible next steps whenever we can. Although we cannot guarantee that a particular service or program will be available or a good fit, we hope to help people feel more connected to their communities and aware of the options that may be available to them.

Have a Question or Need Help Finding Resources?

We welcome you to contact us at info@autismsocietyofwa.org. When reaching out, please include your county and a brief description of the general support, information, or community connections you are looking for. This helps us identify potentially relevant resources and opportunities in your area whenever possible.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in your message, such as medical records, diagnostic evaluations, dates of birth, financial information, or other confidential details. A brief description of your general question is enough to help us identify possible next steps.

Response Times

We appreciate your patience as we respond to inquiries. Response times may vary depending on volunteer availability and the number of messages we receive. We will do our best to respond as soon as we are able, but we cannot guarantee an immediate response.

We look forward to connecting with our community, building relationships, and working alongside other organizations and community partners across Washington. Through shared knowledge, advocacy, education, and connection, we can contribute to a more inclusive and supportive future for Autistic people, their families, and friends.

Brand Manifesto

Because the experience of Autism is not one thing. Because it is many things. And because the connection between those experiences is you.

Because we see you. The way you think. The dreams you hold. The talents you bring. Because you can’t be categorized into neat little diagnostic boxes. Because you break the mold.

Because sometimes you’re quiet. Because sometimes you need help reaching for where you belong. Because sometimes what happens is not always right or fair or just. Because there are keys to every door that looks locked.

Because no matter how you were born, the person you are is infinite—and you are the only you there is.

Because Autism is not going away, neither are we. The Autism Society.

The connection is you.™
